Day of Beauty

Our salon had the pleasure of meeting Soraya, a 12 year old student from RCMA Charter School (Redlands Christian Migrant Association – a school for children of migrant farm workers and rural, low-income families throughout Florida) in Immokalee, Florida. Soraya came into the salon upon receiving a well deserved reward from her school counselor since Kindergarten, and our wonderful client, Joanne Blumenthal. Her reward includes an all-inclusive “Girls Day Out” with Joanne…lunch,a cut and style with Emily Eldredge from ncolor salon, a trip to the Best of Everything, and some new wardrobe selections.
Soraya had to work hard all year on improving her grades and improving her attitude towards fellow peers and teachers. She shyly told me (with a definite look of satisfaction and pride) that she scored A’s and B’s on her report card, worked on being less bossy with her friends, and also had to show active kindness towards others on a daily basis. She told me that she is a better listener and has changed her attitude in school.
Soraya LOVES to dance; jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop (and maybe some break dancing if she can find anyone to teach her). She just finished a recital where she had to learn ten different routines. From what I heard, she did an amazing job!
