I have had the same long hair forever. I usually wear my hair tied back because of the length and the hot Florida weather. I’d like a shorter cut that better suits the Florida lifestyle and my busy schedule. And this leads to another reason why ncolor should select me. I would like to donate my hair to Locks of Love. I’ve looked into this and I meet their requirements: my hair is not colored and I can donate at least 10 inches.

On Sunday, the stylists at ncolor spent the day furthering their education. They had the privilege of having Redken educator Donna Barnes share some of her knowledge on the art of hair design with them. “After spending so much time behind the chair, it is always a good refresher to sit down and be reminded of the basics.” Donna, along with her assistant, Summer, gave a fun refresher of cutting techniques as well as some new tips. She taught the stylists all about the ever-popular bang trend, from what type of bang is good for each face shape to different techniques to achieve different types of bangs. Then all had the opportunity to do some hands-on learning. Donna went over a very chic, disconnected bob, step-by-step, as the stylists followed along on their own mannequin heads -of course, being conscientious to use all of the proper techniques they had just learned. All-in-all, it was a good, productive Sunday at ncolor! In an industry that is ever-changing and growing, our stylists want to grow along with it. Thanks again Donna and Summer! - Shannon (colorist/stylist at ncolor)

Fabrice, Crystal and I drove to the Ritz Carlton in Key Biscayne together to meet Gary, Louis and Meggan for a well-anticipated celebration of Gary and Louis’ birthday bonanza. The car ride started with Crystal complaining of Fabrice’s horrible French music that he insisted on sharing and singing too. Thankfully, Crystal took over the radio situation and 2 hours later we arrived happy and safely. The hotel was beautiful with an amazing arrangement of 300 peachy pink roses in the lobby.

We then settled into our room and headed down to the beach grill where we hung out and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and weather; preparing ourselves for a fun-filled night of activities. After the fun of 5 hairstylists and a make-up artist getting ready together we headed off to bed. Not the bed you usually think about when you say I’m going to bed…Bed in Miami is an oxymoron to say the least. It’s a restaurant/nightclub where your food and drinks are served on a big bed with fluffy pillows.

Next, we headed two doors down to Fabrice’s new favorite night club. We stayed there a while and decided we had enough so we ventured another couple doors down to Mansion. At Mansion we all danced the night away. It was as packed as a Tyson chicken coop, but we all stayed glued together enjoying one another’s company. By 3AM we had our fun and were ready to jump into our REAL bed awaiting us at the Ritz. Oh, but before we called it a night we had to order some food in the lobby where we met some crazy guy wouldn’t disclose his name, but insisted on telling us about his lavish life. We just concluded that it was Michael Douglas’ son Joel…we have no idea who this character was, got our food and went to bed.

Sunday morning we were all a bit drowsy, but did well…Louis and Fabrice even went for a quick run along the beach. We ordered room service for breakfast and had a great time reminiscing about the funny things we did and said 10 hours ago….

We had such a good time! We’ve already said to one another, “When should we plan our next SOBE adventure?”

Soraya came into the salon upon receiving a well deserved reward from her school counselor since Kindergarten, and our wonderful client, Joanne Blumenthal. Her reward includes an all-inclusive “Girls Day Out” with Joanne…lunch,a cut and style with Emily Eldredge from ncolor salon, a trip to the Best of Everything, and some new wardrobe selections. Soraya had to work hard all year on improving her grades and improving her attitude towards fellow peers and teachers. She shyly told me (with a definite look of satisfaction and pride) that she scored A’s and B’s on her report card, worked on being less bossy with her friends, and also had to show active kindness towards others on a daily basis. She told me that she is a better listener and has changed her attitude in school. Soraya LOVES to dance; jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop (and maybe some break dancing if she can find anyone to teach her). She just finished a recital where she had to learn ten different routines. From what I heard, she did an amazing job!

Throw that eyelash curler away! Want to get some gorgeous lashes? Of course - who doesn’t want to have long lashes. Did you know that having long lashes can make you look YOUNGER? How about even 5-10 years younger in one day without paying serious money for cosmetic surgery? It’s Hollywood’s ”best kept secret” because getting lash extensions downplays the circles, fine lines and puffy eyes. However, there is a catch to all this - it’s not just any lash extensions but a specific type of lash extension.

NovaLash eyelash extension are a completely new method of enhancing the length and thickness of eyelashes. Extensions are applied on a lash-by-lash basis for a natural look that lasts for several weeks.

Susan, an employee of the salon, was asked about her NovaLash extensions and here is what she said…”I AM ADDICTED! Usually when I wake up in the morning, I feel I look my worst. No mascara, no makeup - YIKES! With the extensions, I look more awake and not as tired. I don’t even wear mascara anymore! What a difference. I also have very sensitive eyes and the lashes are not irritating in the slightest.”

The ncolor staff was proud to once again participate in this years annual Naples Equestrian Challenge Charity Event – appropriately titled “Bootstrap Boogie Barn Dance”. It was an evening of western vittles, line dancing, “hay-calf” lassoing, and mechanical bull riding…so we all grabbed a “pardner” and stepped out in our hats and boots for this great cause. Most of us (not sensible Gary) even had the courage to ride the mechanical bull , Louis of course took it to the extreme and refused to get off the bull until he was thrown…

The Naples Equestrian Challenge is a nonprofit organization offering therapeutic riding for Collier County, Florida adults and children with disabilities, both physical and emotional. “At NEC, we offer activities to address the physical, mental, and social challenges our riders face…equine therapy offers marvelous benefits. It relaxes muscles, increases join mobility, strengthens and improves posture, balance, and coordination. It also develops self-confidence, concentration and self-discipline.” NEC is always looking for volunteers to assist. The program would not be possible without their help. Click on this link to find out more about NEC and how you could help. www.naplesequestrianchallenge.org

It started - as many things do - with our fashionista stylists in the salon. Suddenly everyone was wildly bronze, and could speak of nothing but their lunch-hour bronzing sessions. Always wanting to be the best in the industry, we decided to travel to Beverly Hills and train with the bronzer to the stars - literally!

We now offer Body Bronzing; a process in which a trained professional will gently and evenly apply tanning solution to the skin giving a natural looking golden (no orange here) tan. Most importantly, you will not have to expose yourself to hours of damaging UV rays.

How does it work? The active ingredient in the tanning solution is DHA-dihydroxyacetone. DHA is derived from sugar cane and interacts with the proteins in the outer layer of your skin to produce a golden brown color. This reaction will take 4-8 hours to visibly emerge into a golden tan. The color that results varies from individual to individual; just as UV tans will differ, according to natural skin tones. The final effect will last up to ten days as the skin slowly exfoliates.

Before and after tanning it is important to follow the instruction listed on our website {click here to view}. This will give the best and most natural results. For those that have sensitive skin, we also offer a completely organic tan.

Our goal is to expose your natural glow in a fast and safe way! Take your confidence to a new level of perfection, starting with your skin…one of your most important accessories.
